1. KL Tower

KL Tower is a prominent feature of the city’s skyline and perhaps one of the most enduring images a visitor to KL will remember. Its architecture reflects the country's Islamic heritage, with the construction and design detailing Arabic scripts, Islamic tiles and more.

The upper deck on KL Tower is stunning as well as majestic and gives you a good sense of the city, its landscape and its people.

Getting There: 
By LRT: Take the Kelana Jaya line to Dang Wangi station. 
By Monorail: Take the monorail to Bukit Nanas.

2. PETRONAS Twin Towers

The Petronas Towers are also known as the Petronas Twin Towers (Malay: Menara Petronas, or Menara Berkembar Petronas). According to the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH)'s official definition and ranking, they are the tallest twin towers in the world.

Suria KLCC is an upmarket retail center at the feet of the Petronas Towers. It features mostly foreign luxury goods and high-street labels.

3. KLCC Park

KLCC Park is a 50-acre garden set close to Suria KLCC shopping centre. Designed by Roberto Burle Marx, it was designed to provide a touch of greenery for the Petronas Twin Towers and the areas surrounding it. On the park grounds is a 10,000sqm manmade lake (Lake Symphony) with a 43m bridge that cuts across.

Unquestionably, Lake Symphony is the reason most people frequent the park; it has water fountains that can shoot water up to a height of 42m. These daily water shows occur at noon and in the evenings.

4. Perdana Botanical Gardens

Perdana Botanical Gardens, better known by its old name "Lake Gardens", is the oldest and most popular park in Kuala Lumpur. 

Roam through the aviaries at the Bird Park and Butterfly Park. Or take a stroll through the beautiful Deer Park and Orchid Garden, which are all reachable by foot. From the gardens, you can also visit other attractions such as the National Monument, the National Planetarium and the Islamic Museum.

Getting There: Perdana Botanical Gardens is 20 minutes away by cab. Make sure to get there early as it can be hot in the afternoon.

5. KL Bird Park

The KL Bird Park is located in the serene and scenic Perdana Botanical Gardens, 10 minutes away from the Kuala Lumpur city centre. 

Home to more than 3,000 birds of 200 local and foreign bird species, the main feature that distinguishes KL Bird Park from other bird parks is the concept of free-flight. See Mandarin ducks, hawk eagles, hornbills, ostriches and more.

Getting There: By KTM Commuter Train, disembark at the KTM Old Railway Kuala Lumpur Station located near the National Mosque. KL Bird Park is just a 5-minute walk from the National Museum.

6. KL Butterfly Park

Kuala Lumpur Butterfly Park is a large public butterfly zoo in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is a popular tourist attraction in the country. It is located adjacent to the Lake Gardens and Kuala Lumpur Bird Park.

This is the largest butterfly garden in the world spanning over 80,000 sq ft of landscaped garden with over 5,000 live butterflies, exotic plants, butterfly-host plants and ferns.

7. National Zoo (Zoo Negara)

Sprawled over 110 acres of land, Zoo Negara houses over 500 animal species. Explore the 'Seven Wonders' of the zoo which consist of mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, fishes, insects and plants. 90% of the animals here are kept in spacious areas with landscaping that resembles their natural habitat.

9. Zouk Club Kuala Lumpur

KL's iconic superclub has left its 11-year-old Jalan Ampang address to move into its shiny new RM38-million home.
